“An investigation is underway in Scotland after a BayWa technician suffered serious injuries at Greencoat’s Tom nan Clach wind farm in Nairnshire.
The 35-year-old man is said to be in a “serious but stable condition” after being airlifted to Raigmore Hospital with severe burns following the incident on Tuesday 23 June.
The incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive and BayWa said an investigation is underway. The HSE told reNEWS it was aware of the incident and is investigating.
BayWa r.e. Operation Services MD Natasha Kumar confirmed that a BayWa service technician had been seriously injured carrying out maintenance work at the wind farm, adding: “He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition”.
“We take the health and safety of our employees and everyone we work with very seriously. At this time all our thoughts are with him and his family, and we wish him a full recovery.”
“An investigation is underway and the incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive.”
BayWa said it was unable to give any further details while the incident was with HSE.”
